Newcastle & Viva
Item one:
Went to Newcastle/Gateshead to visit Ian over the weekend. All very jovial, Gradius V was played (we are very bad), I went on the Metro, and we walked round the place and looked at some architecture. There's rather more of it than I realised (having never been there before), including the excellent wiffly bridge (pictured)

Item two:
I had my viva, which was not too unpleasant, barring some awkward erring about various theory questions. All was well, I passed, etc., the external urges me to publish more bits of my masterpiece, blah. Afterwards, we had a pub lunch, and drank, then idled about in Dixons, before more drink. Model members of society, us. :-)
Item three:
Boot Camp. Apple have officially moved onto the list of companies (along with Sun) whose mission statement reads "We have no clue".
